BACKGROUND .Dr. Henry Uzor Oshilonyah, is a Medical Laboratory Scientist, was born
on the 21th of November 1975 in Port Harcourt, Rivers. He hails from Aboh in Ndokwa
East Local Government Area of Delta State. He started his earlier career with Delta
State Hospital Management Board, Asaba in 2006, where rose to the rank of Assist.
Chief Medical Laboratory Scientist. He served as Chairman, Ethics/Research Committee,
Lab. Pillar Head on Outbreak of Yellow Fever virus in Delta state in 2020; Facilitator in
HIV/AIDs awareness programmes. In 2021, he transferred his services to University of
Delta, Agbor as Lecturer 1, in Department of Biological Sciences He served as
Chairman, Microbiology Handbook/Curriculum Committee; Head of Unit, Microbiology;
Faculty of Science Rep. Business Committee of Senate, Faculty of Science Exam.
Officer; Member , Unidel Founders Day, WHO volunteer member, certified safety and
health officer. His hobbies include teaching, researches in public health diseases,
community development/charity, football, entertainment. He is happily married, blessed
with four (4) Children.
Education Dr Henry Uzor Oshilonyah, started his primary education in Ashaka primary school (
formerly St Leo's Catholic Primary school) Ashaka 1981-1987, He attended Mater Dei
Grammar school, Ashaka 1988-1993, and further got a General Certificate Examination
GCE/WAEC in 1994. He attended Federal School of Medical Laboratory sciences, of
University of Jos (JUTH) 1996-2001 were be obtained an Associate Degree in medical
laboratory sciences (AlMLS) with sub specialty in Medical Microbiology and was inducted
into medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria in 2001. He had his Master's degree
in medical Laboratory Sciences, from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma in 2005 with
specialty in Medical Microbiology. In 2012, he got a post graduate degree in education.
(PGDE). He further obtained his Ph.D (Doctor of philosophy-Degree) from Abia state
University, Uturu, in 2015 with specialty in Public Health Microbiology.
After His Ph.D degree he served as Adjunct Lecturer cum the Accreditation of
Department of Microbiology, Abia State University. 2018-2021. He also supported in
the accreditation programme of Department of Medical Laboratory Science, Novena
University and Department of Science Laboratory Technology, DELSU, Abraka In 2021.
Dr Henry Uzor Oshilonyah, became a Fellow of Association Medical Laboratory Scientists
of Nigeria in 2022 (FAMLSM) and was inducted a Fellow of West Africa Post Graduate
College of Medical Laboratory Sciences (FWAPCMLS) in 2022 which gave him the status
of Consultant Medical Bacteriologist in the Faculty of Medical Bacteriology/
Microbiology). He is an active member of Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of
Nigeria (AMLSN) Member, American Society of Microbiology(ASM) Member, African
Society For Laboratory Medicine, Member, Association of Public Health Practitioners of
Nigeria
Areas of specialization include Medical Laboratory science- Medical/ public health
Microbiology with research interest in Public Health Diseases, Phytomedicine,
Drosophilia melanogaster and Innovation of Patent products.
He has several publications in international journals and conference proceedings. He
also served as Conferences as Facilitator, Consultant/Organizer.
